Foundations for Finance

The Foundations for Finance course was developed because of the need to help people know how to steward the profit that resulted from following Foundations for Farming’s practices. Increasing someone’s income can be seen as a really positive thing, but if they don’t know how to handle the increase then more damage than good can be done. Foundations for Finance aims to teach people how to steward their money wisely.

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.
Psalm 24:1

Foundations for Finance starts with the basic principle that everything belongs to the Lord. It is in the revelation of this truth that we begin to steward our money and possessions in a more effective way. Recognising the fact that God is the owner of everything means that so many of the worries that we have–over holding onto or building our own empires and possessions–are futile. It places us in the role of caretaker rather than owner.

There are 2350 verses in the Bible about money, possessions and stewardship. The Bible speaks more on these topics than anything else, so it is clear that God places a huge importance on them. The Foundations for Finance course is based on these truths, and tries to help people understand what God says about debt, counsel, giving, saving, and investing.

On top of the biblical truths, Foundations for Finance teaches a simple way for people in rural Africa to practically budget, control their spending, save and give.

The Foundations for Finance course is being developed by Crown Financial Ministries. Crown Financial Ministries was started in the United States but has spread all over the world. To visit Crown’s website click here.
